Quad core mobile computing
Quad core technology made it to mobile computing devices this year. People were excited by this, but also confused as to why dual core machines are unable to cut it anymore. The last time we were in this situation, it was December, 2010 when the first ever dual core smartphone came out in the shape of the LG Optimus 2x. At that time, having two cores became the new “must have”. 2012 brings us back to the same situation. We saw gorgeous devices with immense storage, massive screens and enough power to put even some basic laptops to shame. If dual core was swatting flies with a cannon, then quad cores are ballistic missiles.
