With its fun game play, precise controls and tactical workings, the game was picked up by millions of players online and remains one of the most fun and addicting shooters to date. After more than a decade, the good folks at Valve have released an update to the original game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive, offering plenty of new refinements and tweaks that will definitely make it a cult favorite once again. The real meat of the game lies in its competitive roots, and it is here that the game truly shines. Teams of Terrorist and. Counter-Terrorist forces must play through the traditional modes of bomb defusal and hostage rescue, and battle for domination within a given set of rounds and time limits. The classic structure of the game is maintained here as you’ll be working your way to cover your bases and achieve victory. However, the game isn’t completely a throwback to old-school mechanics, as two new modes and game types have been made available.

Newcomers can choose to stick with the classic settings of Counter Strike, or go for a more forgiving mode that disables friendly fire and equipment purchasing after every round. The new match types available are Arms Race, a death match-style mode where players are rewarded with instant gun upgrades for every kill, and Demolition, an objective-based mode that gives you weaker guns every time you eliminate someone from the opposing team. Although both game modes are a departure from the conventional game mechanics, they are incredibly fun. The game has been expertly balanced by various tweaks, UI enhancements and other aspects such as the Nemesis player feature from Team Fortress 2. Maps are well crafted and locked for each type of game mode, and new weapons such as Incendiary Grenades and Molotov Cocktails will surely change the game, providing lots of fun. The controls are very fluid, though the console versions lacks aim assists. Whatever your platform of choice, be sure to use a keyboard and mouse for maximum efficiency. The graphics are highly detailed and feel like a mix between classic
Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2. Weapons lack iron sights but have a realistic feel to them, and character animations look . and feel a lot better. The game doesn’t ‘really focus a lot on graphics though, and it’s pretty evident that a lot could be done in that department.
